I would like to ask your opinion on the following:

Do you think that the Quercus suber could survive in temperatures of min. 0 to -1C and max. 35-38C (sometimes up to 40C)?
Do you think it is feasible to give her a try?
Is it worth it or should I look for another species suitable for these temperatures?

In sardinia we have temperatures like you

Do you have any suber of your own and how long?
I am in contact with Andrea about one quercus... but I am not so sure that it can survive.
I have tried last year with a beech (fagus sylvatica) and the poor tree was killed..., this spring it was not awake.
But since I am a beginner maybe I do not know what exactly went wrong with it...
I hope more people will give their suggestions ot help me

fagus is suitable in the mountains, the quercus suber is perfect with our temperatures.
Last year I picked up two quercus suber and are very well.
now the soil is composed of pumice and perlite because they have to root.

So, you have collected last winter, haven't you?
When do you intend to repot?
Next year in early spring? Or this coming autumn?

I collected in September 2010. they are now located in a village where they were taken.
I repot in the spring of 2012, if everything is ok
