predefinito Previcur dosology

A bonsai professional has advised me to use every 2-3 weeks the bayer previcur for my sabina rastrera as a precaution against fungus.

Could you tell me the dosology for root application?

Regards,

Theo

Yes confir the correct use of previcur, you can use also swan or ailette (same active). You should always follow the dosage on the label.

I remamber previcur is about 5ml X L.

Yes, but...., kindly let me express my own opinion on this issue.
All chemical fungi/insecti/cides work at times when the attacking enemy is present, don't they?
What is the purpose of "preventive" use of chemicals when no such circumstances like the above are existing?
I believe that by doing this way we are greatly aggravating environmental pollution.
Just some food for thought....

Hi Alexandra
Not only. If they're Systemic then they are absorbed by the tree and keep up the protection for weeks...

But... I agree with you that the preventive use of chemicals should be reduced to a minimum.
Beside aggravating environmental pollution, it's my opinion that it weakens the "natural defences" of the tree, killing antagonists and/or enfeebling the plant.

Being an environmental scientist, environmental pollution due to the use of chemicals for bonsai cultivation is mininininininininmalllll!

Anyway, with the approval of Andrea I would suggest for precaution 1-1.5 ml/lt and for cure 3 ml/lt.

Chemicals for bonsai cultivation are not different than the chemicals for agriculture in general.
So quantities used for bonsai even though minor are indeed added to quantities used in agriculture, then the numbers certainly are not minimal.

Anyway, I would like to keep using them strictly when needed and not for prevention reasons.
I do agree with Gian Piero they deplete plants of their natural deffence, just like we humans suffer by the repeated use of antibiotics etc
