Itoigawa cutting big

The main features that make the itoigawa so interesting and appreciated in the world of bonsai are the following: scales very small and compact design that allows a great thickening of the stage and kept the same (ideal also for creating a shohin), color shining green during the summer and darker during the winter (automatic “defense” of the plant to attract the rays of the sun during the coldest period of the year), the scales that even after machining very drastic does not tend to absolutely steer the needle, high vigour and root system is relatively much stronger than many other varieties of juniper (so much so that, almost always in the graft of roots to create more plants from a single, using just the roots of the itoigawa).

These characteristics explain why, in practice, the coupling approximation on the junipers you always use cuttings of itoigawa, this in order to have the best quality of “vegetation” as possible.
